The last leg of the series felt like it wasn’t the same story that I loved anymore. In many ways they were much alike.

Tanashiri, the Empress who was jealous of her, Tanqishi, her mother’s killer, and El Temur, the Regent who had Ta Hwan as his puppet all his life. But then, it’s a free world and we can write whatever is on our minds. She reached for him.. He is an Emperor of a tyrant country. But then, I couldn’t love it for its entirety. According to the belief system of this drama, there are future lives, and it is hoped that in the next life that WY will finally have the happiness he is seeking and so deserved. In 1347, the emperor forced Toqto'a into In 1349, Toghon Temür recalled Toqto'a, which began Toqto'a's second and very different administration. If not for his help in exposing the corruption in Eagle House, El Temur would never be executed, the primary thorn in the Yuan Emperor’s life. After the fall of El Temur, it was then that the scenes became repetitive and tiresome. Wang Yoo didn’t have to rape her like Ta Hwan did.

Well maybe she failed in some, like keeping Koryo peaceful, but Wang Yoo is no longer the King that time.

Someone in the comments said that they should have left as they didn’t achieve much. Toghon Temür gradually lost interest in politics and ceased to intervene in political struggles. Ta Hwan décapite Dang Ki-se parce qu'il connaissait les origines de Ma-ha et menace de tuer tous ceux qui sont au courant pour sauver Seung-nyang, y compris Wang Yoo.

She also gets caught up in a love triangle between the Koryo King and the Yuan Emperor.I honestly had a love-hate relationship with this series. Always think highly of her. She chose to ride with ta hwan, we all know that later life, she chose to love him more than wang yoo. TN and WY both loved SN in different ways, and she loved both of them. It’s not meant to be harsh towards Ta Hwan, I hope you know where I was coming from. She lost everything.

The several short-lived administrations that followed from 1344 and 1349 would develop an agenda very different from Toqto'a's. I didn’t understand why Wang Yu had to die in order to save Nyang. Empress Ki tells the story of Ki Sung Nyang (Ha Ji Won) who rises from nothing to marry Emperor Ta Hwan (Ji Chang Wook) and become Empress of the Yuan Empire. Bayan became the new regent and lobbied for his niece to be Empress. She could’ve asked the emperor to banish koryeo tribute, and such, she didn’t have to become empress. Wang Yoo was a very clever man who fooled the fox Yeon Chul to death, had the great ability to convince and negotiate with enemies. I guess Ta Hwan knew deep inside that it’s still Wang Yoo she loves.

It had nothing to do with WY’s friends but her, there’s a reason why her death was extremely important, far more important than Wang Yoo concerning Nyang fate as Empress, and fish for the answer. Because MAHA is the child that she maked with her true love. Few of us have a fairy tale ending. Of course Wang Yu would never tell her secret, even if they shoved a red hot poker in his….wherever.I share the same thought as u I just didnt understand why wang yu kept protecting nyang I wish he should just stayed with botul that woman really loved him truelyI personally love that Ki was EXTREMELY morally grey.

This drama is very adult, there’s nothing juvenile. Of course not! Ta Hwan (Korean name) Emperor Huizong (Temple name) Title(s): Prince of Yuan Emperor of Yuan Allegiance: Yuan: Relationships Significant Others: Danashiri † (ex-wife, political marriage) Bayan Khutugh † (ex-wife, political marriage) Ki Seung Nyang (wife, love of his life) Children: Maha † (not biological) Ayushiridara. She never promised anything like that to Ta Hwan. How can they make SN’s life in danger when SN is like a family to them (I’m pointing on WY’s follower) and to WY she is his greatest love.

It’s a drama. He loved her no matter what cost, even if it’s his own life. It was a forbidden love, but she always had him in her heart, even in her dreams. She became a cold-hearted woman, even towards Wang Yoo, the man she loved. Empress Ki tells the story of Ki Sung Nyang (Ha Ji Won) who rises from nothing to marry Emperor Ta Hwan (Ji Chang Wook) and become Empress of the Yuan Empire. You know this drama is a polarizing one. Here I am reminded about the Brexit vote, an emotional vote by people missing the glory days of Empire and wanted to get that back by leaving the European Union, ignoring the reality that Great Britain is no longer Great and no longer rules the waves. You know what, as I was reading this, I was so astonished because every single word you said is how I felt while watching the series… There’s not a single letter in this post that I disagree with Before reading this, every single person I know who has watched it loves the emperor.. In 1340 he allied with Bayan's nephew With the dismissal of Bayan, Toqto'a seized the power of the court. watch the denial that spreads through her face, how she shacks her face in denial after Ta-Hwan’s arms fails. I was hooked. Things tend to be deeper and more poetic in any sageuk.Seung Nyang left the palace, she escaped Yuan because of an impending war and left Ayu ruling Yuan. He had nothing, not even his mother, he is no one but just a name, until someone came along to path him up. She only got wang yoo in her mind because of their past, especially when she lost her child with him. To call this as a nasty comment? Sometimes i didn’t so much Ta Hwan because he was weak and sometimes a fool.

Seung Nyang never needed to tell him that because it is already obvious. I’m glad I inspired you to write! The battle of the western frontier is coming to a conclusion. The Dowager would have been better off keeping Ki on side – you have the ace player, keep the ace player – as Ki would have been perfectly prepared to be loyal to her as long as she didn’t get in the way of her plans. As i rewatched the show.
